Vintage Sewing Machine Cake Progress

Description

here is how I made the Sewing Machine.
there are few steps I didn't make pictures of so:
- between 1 and 2 I wrapped whole structure in cling film so that the cake wouldn't have direct contact with it
- no.3 - on this picture you can see a bit of real Singer Sewing Machine I found in my family house - it was a big help to get the proportions right!
- no.5 - it took forever to get it covered smoothly! I used fondant/modeling chocolate mixture but I would say modeling chocolate made around 75-80% of it. that's how I managed to make it almost seamless
- no.6 - the piece of wood sticking out from the back was half of support I used for the big wheel. it took me 3 attempts to get it right - I tried to make it in gingerbread, but it didn't hold the shape and looked sloppy. then in Royal Icing, but even after 2 days it still wasn't dry enough. so finally I made it from the same fondant/chocolate mix I used for covering the cake, with a long skewer going inside the cake
- between 6 and 7 is missing almost  whole day of decorating. not only golden swirls but also silver details, wood effect on a cake board, fabric, buttons and all that jazz
in the end it took 3 days + time I used making the structure. the board was so big it didn't fit inside my fridge, luckily it was in the middle of mild winter so during the nights I kept it on a balcony in a big box
when I decided to make this cake I knew it was going to be epic - I was just expecting it to be an epic fail ;P but in the end even self-critical me was happy with how it turned out!

Incredible 😳😚 amazing! I think l'm going to try this experience 😝
How did you do the golden swirls? Do you paint them ? And the singer name? How did you do to get it like that? With a stencil?
